Are you looking for something new to do with your friends or significant other? Or maybe just something for yourself where you can learn while doing something different for FREE?? You should probably stop by Doc’s Wine, Spirits and More! Doc’s Wine, Spirits and More offers a wine class, Doc’s Wine Academy every Tuesday and Wednesday. The class starts promptly at 7:00 pm on both days, lasting only for an hour. It is full of new experiences, new information, different people, smiles, and wine! I’ve been twice already and I’m going this week! It’s like a real class to me. I actively listen and take many notes. Brian, the teacher for each class is from California and has a wealth of knowledge on the subject. The information ranges from the types of grapes used, soil, location of vineyard, how to determine acidity, alcohol content, ingredients, what foods to pair, to how to determine if your wine has gone bad. You get to sample from 6 different kinds however, the wines won’t always be sweet. If you don’t have an interest in learning about wine or an open mind when it comes to taste you probably won’t like it. BUT if you attend and find yourself wanting more of what you’ve tasted you can always ask to revisit what you’ve sampled. It’s a great outing for the Fall! Wow…it’s already fall! On top of them providing the class they also have reasonable prices, they may be the lowest I’ve seen in the city. They have home décor, sweets, bar tools, and so much more. The store is beautiful and the staff is always helpful and friendly. They are also looking to do a whiskey and tequila tasting soon! You do have to call before the class to reserve your spot or sign up on one of your visits to Doc’s. Oh! You also get 10% off your purchase on that night for attending the class. Thanks to Carmen (owner of AppleSauce Bartending…be sure to check out one of my previous blogs on her) I have a new weekly spot. Well maybe not weekly but I like to go at least twice a month. I’ve pretty much told all of my friends about it even those that don’t live here. Add it to your to-do list and let me know what you think once you go!
